When the dishwasher has been off overnight (with the door closed) it has started to operate with what sounds like the pump running continiously. On opening the door the “Normal” LED is flashing.

Its best to give the flashing lights by number from the left.

If it is light No1 that is flashing then you have a leak into the base of the machine.

The machine needs to be unplugged, removed from its housing and inspected for internal leaks.

Light 2 flashing = Inlet valve, connections, valve letting water pass through when off.

Sounds like a faulty inlet valve.

Valve leaking into machine, overflows into base, trips float switch and switches on the drain pump.
