Hello. I own a hotpoint LFT114 dishwasher which developed an error no2 (led 2 is flashing after self-test). According to the service manual this has to do with the “charging electro-valve” which is broken. As far as I can understand this is the water inlet valve, right?
Now, I just dismantled the machine and it looks like it fills with water to the point it has to fill. When the motor pump is about to start I can only hear a hum (i guess it comes from the motor) and nothing happens. When I was doing the self-test, for the third time, the motor started to work and finished the test with no problem although the error code kept coming. This happened at least 3-4 times. The motor was working properly. So I put the machine together, filled it with dishes and started a full circle (my thought was that debris was clogged inside the motor and gone after the self-tests), but nothing. After filling with water the motor started to work for almost a second and then stopped with the strange low hum. Any advise???

    Thanks in advance,
    Nikos

Visit the sales and buy something decent.;)

The main motors on these Indesit dishwashers are very prone to failure, the noises you describe are a clear indication of that. New motor is around £96.

Yeah I know its a crappy machine. I just dont want to spend the new years eve dishwashing by hand. Anyway I opened the circulation pump. I could see a lot of food and detergent debris but it could spin by hand. Cleaned it up and started a full circle. It works fine till now although the error E2 still remains when in self test procedure. Lets hope its a glitch of the software…
