    Hi,

I have a 4-yr-old Hotpoint LFT114UK dishwasher that was initially showing an F06 error.
I replaced the water inlet valve but now have a F02 error.
I adjusted the pressure switch – and heard the effect during wash cycle – but still have F02.

The air break looks clear – no calcium build up – and impeller is turning ok.
I’m not aware of any change to water supply pressure.

I live in a soft water region but admit to not using salt or rinse aid regularly.
Could the water softener unit cause a F02 error? Or is it a dodgy circulation motor?

    Hope you can help.

You should never, under any circumstances ‘adjust’ the pressure switch. Not sure what you heard after you did.

AFAIK this dishwasher doesn’t show numerical codes but flashes the lights to give the error code.

Both F02 and F06 are related and it is possible there was nothing wrong with the fill valve in the first place.

It is more likely to be a faulty fill turbine, you may get lucky and be able to put the pressure switch back to its correct setting or you may have also damaged that.

    Thanks for reply.
The old fill valve failed continuity test with multimeter, so replaced.
After small adjustment to pressure switch, I heard the initial wash cycle commence with more ferocity.
Is the fill turbine the wash motor?
    Thanks again.

No its part of the water inlet chamber mounted inside the left hand side panel ,looking from front.

You have to do a resistance test on a fill valve, they will fail a simple continuity test with a bog standard multimeter due to high resistance. 😉

    Thank you again.

(Yes, sorry – meant resistance test).

You wouldn’t happen to have part number for the fill valve?
Struggling to find it on parts sites.

THIS is the part you may need.

Thanks for info but isn’t this the air break?
Its impeller appears to be turning ok, and there’s no sign of calcium deposits in it.
the air break connects directly to the water softener unit. There’s a solenoid valve downstream of the connection, although not sure of its function.

    Re: Hotpoint LFT114UK F02 error

Well if someone with over 40 odd years experience told me that the water turbine is the most common cause of the error codes I was getting I would be minded to think they may have a good chance of being on the right track. 🙁

But then you have messed around with the pressure switch for no good reason so feel free to press on with whatever you deem to be the cause of the problem. :rolls:

Just trying to relay as much information as possible regarding what I observe.
    Thanks for your time.
