hotpoint LFT228A

Hi folks .Went out to a Hotpoint LFT228A dishwasher today.
Come up with error 5 could anybody enlighten me on this error code . Machine started washed for a couple of minuites then emptied and filled again a few times. I blew down pressure pipe and tried again, machine worked fine!!! I’ve got a feeling it’s not going to be the last I’ve seen of this machine. So any pointers before I inevitably go out to it again. Thanks.

Look for broken wiring in the door common problem

Pressure switch.

Mesh plate, filter or microfilter, pressure switch, circulation
pump.

Main circulation pumps do fail quite often on these.

Thanks for the replies. I did recieve the dreaded call she says it worked for a few washes then the same again.
I’m asahamed to say I refered her to Hotpoint because it was a call on the far side of the moon , it was a built in bodge and most of all I just didn’t fancy a pig and a poke at it. 😯 .
I’m going to give her a ring next week to see how she got on . I’ll keep you posted.
