    Hi,

This should be simple. I need to replace the power cord on my new dishwasher with a longer one but I am struggling to get the plastic fascia off where the cord enters the machine, can anyone point me in the right direction?

I am assuming once I have done that I will be able to remove the old cord and connect a new one, or is the cord integrated into something that will require me to buy a specific part? If not, what thickness of cable should I be buying to replace it?

    Thanks.

why can you not use a 13A extension lead ?

you also say its a new dishwasher. If you take it apart you will probably void any guarantee you have

Guess I could, just thought that would be frowned upon for some reason.

as long as the lead is
    A not coiled up
B able to take the maximum current the appliance needs
C the connection is in a secure dry place even if it is on the floor under the kitchen units

    then all will be fine
