    Morning

My Hotpoint Mistral fridge/freezer is playing up. Previously I had an E8 error message which I fixed with a turn off/turn on attempt. However, some weeks later, I now have a freezer working at -22 degrees correctly but the fridge has shot up to +18 degrees. I think from searching various forums that it is the evaporator thermistor that needs replacing. However, I can’t find where to physically locate this part within the unit itself. Can anybody help please? Many thanks

if you remove the freezer baskets, there is a plastic panel at the rear.carefully remove fixing screws to reveal the fan assembly and cowling. The polystyrene insulator needs to be pulled downwards, then access to the evaporator and thermistors is possible.you should really change both the green and yellow ones which control the fan and evaporator.round about £15 each to buy. 99.99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time this will cure the fault you have.also chech the evap is not iced over.check the fan actually works by opening the fridge door and you should hear the fan on closing the door.hope this helps.
