Hotpoint Mistral not cooling BOTH compartments

I just bought a used Hotpoint Mistral fridge freezer, both the fridge AND freezer are not cooling and the control panel is showing room temperature for each. The compressor is running all the time and I can feel normal heat from it. I remove the freezer back panel and I can feel the top of the evaporator at the inlet pipe is cold but not the rest of the evaporator. Is it lacking gas or is there a sensor that needs to be changed ? I see a green connector sensor that is attached to the front of the insulation and a yellow connector that has a lead that goes behind the evaporator, I pulled of this yellow connector and the freezer fan started up. I transported this fridge over a long distance if that is relevant. Any help appreciated because I have no fridge currently !

was it laid horizontal in transit and was it turned on (i.e plugged into a live socket) immediately it was put in your home?

It was transported on it’s back and was left for about 14 hours before it was switched on.
