    Hi Guys,
I have been having a few issue with the the above Fridge Freezer.

The freezer compartment is fine and reads approx -20 to -22 degrees celsius on the LCD display. I have confirmed the accuracy of this using the temp function on my multimeter.

The fridge remains approx + 15 degrees Celsius.

After reading through the mountain of threads on this subject I have performed all the basics, defrosting and hoovering out the condensor compartment along with cleaning the condensor fan. Checked the Fridge door switch, ok. (O/C with the door closed)

I checked the Baffle in the fridge compartment by unplugging the fridge thermistor, the Baffle closed..

I did find a loose spade connection on the connector block to the right of the evap fan, repaired that. Also found dry solder joints on the PCB, on serveral resistors that appeared they had gotten rather hot in the past. These resistors are in circuit with a TRIAC which I would guess may be used to switch the evap fan, possibly?

    Thermistor Checks.

I measured the resistance of the termistors at approx 15 Degrees Celsius, The results are as follows.

    Fridge Thermistor = 4.21K Ohms
    Freezer Thermistor = 4.96K Ohms
    Evap Thermistor = 2.03K Ohms

However I unplugged the Evap thermistor, switched the power on and the evap fan kicked in!!

So my conclusion is that the evap termistor is faulty and not getting to a high enough resistance to switch the fan on?

    Does this sound correct?

    Any suggestions welcome.

    Kind Regards

    Dom

    Update:

It seems my theory would was correct, I repaired the evap thermistor, but cuttign the original off and replacing it with parts from Maplins.

This repair cost me just a few quid, and is easy if you can work a soldering iron.

    x2, 4k7 (4.7kOhms) @ 25 Degrees CelsiusThermistors
Maplins Part #: FX21X, Current Price: 89p each

The original Thermistor is 2K5 (2.5kOhms) @ 25 degrees celsius, which I couldn’t find available. However connecting the above Maplin parts in parallel.
Basically place them together and link or twsit the adjacent legs together, then solder them. Then solder the legs to the wires of your black 2core cable, blue and brown wires, polarity not an issue.

You then need to cover this with heatshrink, the glue/adhesive type is best to ensure water proofing.

Plug in re-asemble and basque in the outpouring of gratitiude from the other half. 😆

Thanks for your post. I have a similar problem with the fan not operating. Can you tell me, where the various thermistors can be found? So far, I have only located the one at the top of the freezer, just below the fan.
