My Hotpoint Mistral Plus 8596 has recently been displaying an error code EA (or is it ER?) Normally when this has happened in the past a power off for about half an hour fixes the fault.
However after several attempts the error code will not clear now.
Can anyone tell me what the error code means. what parts I need to fix this fault, where I get them from and how I go about replacing them.

That info is useful. Do you know what part needs to be replaced / mended to give me feedback? Is it just a microswitch?

It really would be useful to know whether there is a replacement part that could solve this problem. Or an even cheaper solution, perhaps.
The snag is that the fault is only intermittent and I forget about it from one week to the next. One day it will happen when we are all away and the fridge contents will be crawling.
