Have a WT960 which is totally dead, gonna get a board from EMW as I need to turn it around quickly but wondered if anyone has had any luck curing this fault which seems to crop up on these.

Had one a few weeks ago with the same problem, i.e, power in but totally dead, new power board cured it. No sign of any distressed components so no clues for a home fix 🙁

    Thanks,

    Eddie.

I don’t have a board to hand but would suggest that the 8 pin microchip (possibly a TNY253 or similar) near the small transformer is the most likely suspect (also check the electrolytic capacitors by it).

Thanks for the reply Jem, yeah, had a look over the caps and whatnot, I think if it came to trying to replace chips i’d have to pass as my eyesight is too middle aged now 😉
