    Hi there,

sorry i I don’t have the model number to hand however my washing machine makes a high pitch squealing noise before spin. I have taken the belt off and have spun the drum by hand and no noise. When I turn the drum very slowly there is a creaking noise like an old creaky door hinge. There is some oil on the bearing. Could it be this?

    thanks

try it with the belt off because it sounds like it may be the pump as these can make a heck of a noise when they are on their way out

Hi Dave. I have had the belt off defiantly not the pump as it does this when the pump is off. It’s a very high pitch squeal when it is going round at a constant speed.

a lot of machines these days use sealed drums. if your machine has one then the cost of replacing it makes it not worth repairing unless its covered by a 5 year part warranty, in which case the manufacturer will give you the part but you have to pay their labour to fit it
