checking it might be the pcb ? Its only a couple of years old..cheers John

try putting a few liters of water in the machine
    then select drain

this can reset the pressure sw water levels

assume the pump stopped at the end of the cycle which means the board can turn off the pump

so I would think its either
    pressure sw or board software

cant access Hotpoint tech anymore so cant check for known issues
