hotpoint oven BS43W/1

hi,
the oven is overheating and cutting out.
the cooling fan doesnt come on,
it works if I bypass the thermostat on top of the oven C00081599.
I replaced it but it still cuts out any ideas welcome

of course it will work if you bypass the protection stat as the unit is overheating

think you need to find out why the cooling fan is not operating

hi, i didnt by pass the protection switch i bypassed the thermostat which operates the cooling fanthe cooling fan worked so i assume the thermostat was faulty

ok that makes bit more info would have helped. also part number you gave is described as oven protection stat

and not a fan thermostat which makes things confusing to say the least

does the cooling fan ever start?

if you bypass the stat and try it does it still cutout

if the inside of the oven is getting too surely its the oven stat

Cooling can works if I bypass thermostat on top of oven. I assumed part i got was correct as it is open circuit at room temperature. It was late on a Friday when I changed it and I didn’t wait to see if the thermostat worked when oven got hot. Do you have a different number for that thermostat

could just be a bad description. have no access to hotpoint tec or diagrams other members may be able to help

I would bypass the fan stat and see if it still overheats

you still did not say if when it overheats it
1 actually overheats inside the oven so everything will burn
2 the oven overheat stat cut out switching it off before temp is reached
