ParticipantHotpoint Oven – Model HUE61XS – approx 5 years old
Problem: Cooling fan will not stop running.
My first instinct was that the cut-in switch had stuck/blown so not cutting out when temperature drops. I located a spare – https://parts.hotpoint.co.uk/product/model_HUE61XS/Heaters-Elements/J00043191 – and replaced it, but the problem is the same. I’ve now tested the original part (wiring up a torch bulb and battery to it and heating the unit on top of a jam jar full of boiling water) and it appears to function correctly, cutting in when hot and off when cool.
Perhaps it is something to do with the grill switch itself? I never use the top oven, but I do use the grill and that was the last thing to be used before the problem started.

Moderatorfrom what I can see of the diagrams there are 2 cut in switches so you need to check the one for the main oven as well. all you need to do is find it and disconnect one wire and see if it stops or remove 1 wire and check for continuity
it is also turned on by contact S2 on the grill controlDave

ParticipantThanks for your help, Dave. I’ll see if I can locate the other cut-in and test as you suggest. I’ve got an idea where it would be – and since there was nothing wrong with the first one I’ve now got a spare (assuming it’s the same). By the way, I’ve been unable to find any useful diagrams just by googling – could you help me out with that?
Cheers
