ParticipantHi hoping someone will be able to advise! Ordered a Hotpoint Freezer (HF1801 EF AA.UK.1) PCB (J00473147) – I selected the programmed version but I suspect what has arrived in the box is unprogrammed as, when installed, the display just shows ‘4’ and turns itself off no matter what button is pressed and the internal light does not work. Can anyone verify if this is the case?
For reference the old PCB still works the freezer perfectly (temperature/light etc.), but none of the buttons function so it beeps constantly since a powercut last week because I can’t tell it not to! (slowly.. BEEP….being…BEEP…driven…BEEP…into…BEEP…madness. Send help lolAugust 16, 2024 at 8:50 pm #491031electrofix
Moderatordoes sound like the new board has some sort of fault
I would contact hotpoint. you have to stress the old board still give some functions but the new board wont. that should tell them that the fault does not lie elsewhere in the fridge
as far as the bleeping goes if you stick tape across the hole in the sounder thing get a lot quieter

ParticipantThanks Dave, hotpoint customer services have been the usual chocolate teapot of usefulness. I have managed to get a free returns label but have yet to manage to get a new PCB sent out (want the new one before I return so they can’t send the same one back!). Did have an interesting argument about how a ‘10 year parts warranty’ is only applicable if I book a repair which coincidentally costs around the same as the part.
Can tell you where any future white goods won’t be bought from!
thanks for the tip, it’s slightly muffled(!) but I’m convinced I can now hear it everywhere, even at the shopsAugust 16, 2024 at 10:41 pm #491033electrofix
Moderatorget a felt pen and put a very small dot on the board. small enough to be missed by them
take a dated photo of it and then send it back. that way you will know if its the same one
Dave
hotpoint is not what it was and Beko has just purchased 80{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the brand. Problem with all these appliances is people demand cheap not quality. If you want good quality refrigeration look at Liebherr
