HOTPOINT R134a ICE DIAMOND Freezer

Power brings on red, green, and amber lights, but nothing else. Any suggestions as to what might be wrong ?

R134A is the gas type, not the model number 😉

Please post the model and we should be able to advise further Chris.

Further information :

R134a is the gas type. The model number is FZ63.

Assuming there is no noise at all from the unit, it’s possibly the thermostat, although the orange light being on indicates that “fast freeze” has been selected which would by-pass it.

Engineer time perhaps on this one I think, check repairs@ for one near you 😀

Thanks for the information, Dave – the amber light can be switched on or off with no effect. However, given high ‘call out’ charges is it worth taking a chance on the thermostat (which I can get for £22.99) and/or the ‘Defrost Stat & Fuse’ (which I can get from the same source for £18.99).

Thermostat is £18.20 and the thermal fuse £15.85, both inc VAT. Please add £3.95 postage.

The risk is obviously yours as it may not be either of those parts at fault, once fitted they are of course non-returnable.
