Hotpoint RD966J washer dryer fault

Hi I have an issue with my washer, RD966J It won’t heat up on certain programs and sits at 1 min remaining, I takes in a slug of water spins for a couple of cycles then pumps the water back out only to repeat this until I stop it, If I select a full wash and dry cycle it behaves perfect, I’d appreciate any help as this one has me stumped. surly all the sensors must be working to work at all?

i would check dryer heater for earth faults

we get lots of problems like this when heaters have a slight leak to earth so check both heaters but the dryer is more likely

That’s interesting because I bought it with a failed dryer heater. It would go down to earth as it warmed up. I’ve fitted a new one and that works fine. I’ll check the washer element to see how that behaves. Thank you for your reply
