RF indicates normal bog standard non frost free models, FF indicates Frost free and all the fans modules etc, yours should just be controled by a thermostat so i would guess you might have a system fault.

i checked system electrics from live and neutral on the plug to the relay and the o/l protection on the compressor all seemed ok there is nothing in the freezer so i checked the compressor and it was warm not very ,but not cold either , i checked the start capacitor also but when i was prising off the terminals connected to the relay it broke the relay in half , it was a perfect break though so i think some resin will stick it back together anyways is there a thermistor or thermostat in the freezer section of these that would cause a low temp fault to the freezer coil thanks

went back to this armed with some resin and a start capacitor , fitted a new capacitor and glued the relay housing back together , i put everything back on the side of the compressor and hey presto comp. fired up and is pressurising the system all is well in the sunny s.e.

for the more ignorant of us non refrigerationy guys, why would a start cap fix the freezer, sold a few rf’s in my time, and as far as i knew, the fridges werent fed by the freezer as they were statics, surely anything to do with the relay start cap or compressor would affect both fridge and freezer???

possibly a problem with the relay all along , i changed the start capacitor as the comp. was not kicking in , i’m not sure which of the alterations i made fixed it but its working fine !
