I am not a fridge expert.. but customer asked me to look at a Hotpoint fridge after I had just repaired the washing machine. Water in base of fridge, easy I thought and proceeded to push a long wire down the drain hole, it went went about 50cm down about 20cm short. I suspected ice and advised them to defrost which did work but obviously that has only confirmed it was ice. Is it repairable? insulation? the fridge/freezer is over 5 years old so no parts guarantee. Any advise I can pass on?
