Hallo all need some idea about Hotpoint RFA80 F/F, drain away keeps freezing, must be a mod for this is there thanks richard.

Could do with a mod but doesn’t seem forthcoming so have on a few opened up the drain hole/non return valve,thats so that on defrost all the water drains away and none gets left in the valve,this freezes and sets it off again.
Whatever it’s made of seems to harden and hold water in when it defrosts so I’ve opened it up with a permanent hole of an 1/8th inch which seems to have done the trick,also the heat rising from the motor helps to keep the hole clear.Doesn’t effect the running at all.
