Hotpoint RL64 Fridge too cold

Hi,

Been having a problem with our RL64 running too cold for a while – freezing the veg etc – reads 3C on the top shelf and ice on the evaporator plate top right. Finally got around to changing the stat, but no difference. Set on ‘1’ and it’s still running all the time. But turn it off ie ‘0’ and it stops as you’d expect. Can’t hear a click from the stat when I rotate the dial either. So I’m a bit baffled!
(Just off to recover the old stat from the bin before it gets emptied!)
