HOTPOINT RLA34 WILL NOT TURN OFF

HI,
I own a Hotpoint fridge RLA34.
The fridge will not turn off do I have a problem with the thermostat.
Can anyone help?
The fridge is just over two years old.
I thought it would last a bit longer.

When you say it doesn’t turn off do you mean the compressor is continuingly running? If so then it’s a stat problem.

If you mean you turn the dial to the off position it is normal for the light to stay on but the compressor should not run.

If it does run then its either the stat or the control wheel is slipping on the spindle of the stat and not turning it off.

Don’t seem to sell the stat here but the part number is 2603481 – around £10-£14 depending where you get it from.

You could also have a problem with a lack of refrigerant, ie the temperature is not getting cold enough to cause the stat to switch the compressor off.

id be making sure the door is activating the light switch as well, not unusual for the door to drop, and not activate the switch
