Hotpoint RLA84 thermostat repair success

Hi All

Thanks to the forum I was able to isolate the “dead fridge” problem on our RLA84 larder fridge to a dead thermostat. I verified the problem by jumpering the live in and switched live out (to the compressor motor) and behold! it worked 🙂

I duly ordered a replacement stat from the boys here which arrived in a week or so. Fitting was easy and the hardest bit was getting the bend in the stat tube right (and not too sharp) so I could replace the plastic trim.

Thanks guys; you saved us a chunk of money and quite a bit of grief.

PS I took some photos of the old stat and wiring in place before disconnecting; they helped.
