Hotpoint Sa2844hix oven

Hotpoint Sa2844hix oven.
multi function oven fan oven works ok.
conventional oven (top and bottom heat). Bottom element heats up but top element doesent. When turned to grill setting the top element heats up. It’s not a dual element.
has anyone come across this issue before, and if so what’s the problem?

well sounds like a board problem as the element will work on other positions so unless 2 relays operate the same element has to be board related

it could be the selector sw on the board so you could try some switch cleaner but other than that any new board needs to be programmed

You may want to watch and listen carefully to it before you order a board as I have come accross a couple of ovens where they turn on only the bottom element till they get close to temperature then they will switch back and forth between the 2 but never have both on at the same time, I can only assume that it is something to do with energy efficiency and power draw.

had a fan oven do something similar where it checks the sensor is working with the grill element before it starts the fan motor

really got me scratching my head did that one
