I have the above problem with a 2 year old Hotpoint dishwasher, no major issues with it so far apart from this but cannot find this error mentioned anywhere. We just turn on the power and after a few seconds these 2 lights flash and we can’t get any further. Open to any suggestions, filter is clean and no water build up to speak of.

1 + 6 does not appear to be a recognised error code.
Common faults on these machines are water ingress into base which can be caused by using 3 in 1 or 4 in 1 tablets, as well as being caused by internal leaks. Drag the machine out, unplug and tilt it to one side after you have placed a couple of towels on the floor. If you get water leaking out then your base was flooded. If the machine then works but the fault returns then you need to find the source of the leak.
