ParticipantHi All
I have been asked to do a bearing replacement on a Hotpoint WF541 W/M – I know that this machine has a sealed tub in it and therefore quoted accordingly for replacing the tub – this was accepted. I ordered a replacement tub (C00143604) only to find it damaged on arrival, having phoned the supplier and complained they sent me another one which also arrived damaged, I am now waiting for a manager to phone me in the morning to say what they are going to do about it.
I have checked both of my other main suppliers who show it as out of stock – so as customer is getting irritated (and so am I) I decided to look at the cost of putting a tub together, (I know that a machine I changed the bearings in a couple of days ago had this sealed tub listed as an option), while searching up parts I stumbled across a complete non welded tub assembly (C00112679) that looks like it might fit – Does anyone know if this is indeed a straight drop in replacement (Will the original weights and motor fit and is the pulley the same size)?Thank you
Jem

That part number does not show up on Partfinder but all of the earlier screwed drums had the drain pump at the back whilst the sealed ones have a pump and filter at the front.
Totally different drums all round, different pressure chamber and switch etc.
Just done a quick Google for that part and it does indeed show the old type sump outlet at the rear so it would not be a suitable replacement. 😥

I did wonder if it was too good to be true.
Do you know of any other part number or which part numbers I would need to build/buy a whole assembly?
Thank you
Jem

I know one or two people on here have speculated on doing this but I wouldn’t bother.
Different hoses, pressure switch, PCB re programming, different support springs etc, etc. Its just not viable TBH.

Thanks Jim
Lets hope that I can get hold of an undamaged replacement tub then and quickly.

I got a complete sealed tub straight from Hotpoint 08448 116 999 with a good trade discount without having to prove I was trade. (Cheaper than the wholesaler IIRC.) Courier delivered direct to my customer next day.

HP spares are desperate for trade, and will price match if you have a better price elsewhere, got a drum for a wml540 coming tomo for just under 20{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} less than their online price.
gotta be a good blag (and trade – obv) to manage this 😀
