Hotpoint Slimline 7801 not emptying

My Slimline 7801 has been a good and faithful servant for 8 years or more.
Sadly it’s not emptying the water now which sits in the bottom of the unit below the sliding tray.
I’ve not put salt in for a while as we’re in Manchester UK and we seem to have reasonable water.
Cleaning the filters hasn’t helped.
The outlet pipe as originally installed was positioned incorrectly according to the manual for some time but that didn’t seem to cause it any problems all this time. I’ve now raised the height of the outlet pipe.
I’d hate to lose the machine as it’s been brilliant up until now.

When you start the program can you hear the drain pump running before the first fill? or just a hum?

Hi Simon,

I hear a fast ticking/clicking for about half a min. Then a hum joins in, the hum is like a gentle vibration.
After 3 minutes much more noise as presumably the machine starts to fill.

No, as Simon46 was suspecting, your drain pump is jammed with something and needs stripping out and cleaning. No way is it a DIY job and I recommend you consult a local expert here : –
