WMF740P leaky dispenser, needs replacing. Hotpoint’s Partfinder says its C00115441 (Dispenser Assy- including C00143652 Valve mounting)Qualtex say C00115441 is OBSOLETE therefore I need to order the Dispenser Assy C00268761 AND the C00143652 Valve Mounting……Move forward 2 weeks and the C00268761 arrives but the C00143652 Valve Mounting is put on ‘Backorder’…….

…That was weeks ago, still this ‘Valve Mounting’ is still to turn up. Meanwhile customer getting a tad tetchy (not screaming as yet but cautiously tetchy). :rolls:

My question: Can I call and stick this dispenser assy in without the sodding ‘Valve Mounting’….???….WTF does it matter anyway?

I live a simple life and can’t be doing with tetchy customers ringing me night and day over a dribbling Hotpoint…there’s more to life than this …SURELY??? :eeek:

tell them they got it from so and so (currys comet etc) and its not your fault that because of this htey have a model requiring special cheaper manufacturered parts in order to prove the £50+ quid saving they were duped with into buying that pile of tosh. “because it was on special offer”. and then state had they had a bosch it was far less likely to happen… if they harass you say your only here to fix the machine THEY chose 😀 knowing you martin, youll have said this already 😀

I’ve already slagged her off for replacing her Hoover with this heap of tat after I’d previously recommended Bosch. Her excuse, “I couldn’t remember the make you told me to get???”

Daft mare!! Still, the good thing is, the dispenser leak is only minor as only about 3 square meters of the laminate is sodden wet.

Still don’t know if the ‘Valve Mounting’ is essential though I suspect it holds the whole dispenser in place at the back of the machine. Lest the whole dispenser flaps about in rythmical timing to the wobbly spin I guess? Is there a national shortage of Valve Mountings? Can I lash it down with Duck Tape meanwhile? So, so many questions….. :clown:

unless the valve orientation is different, i cant see why, its gotta be worth a go just using the old one, to just get her off your back. i was assuming the part was the threaded extension but having looked on qtx its not, its just hte plastic cutout.

Well I managed to fit the dispenser (C00268761)without the need for the ‘Valve Mounting’as it happened. In fact it was just a straightforward changeover so god knows why a valve mounting is required in the first place.

    Heap of junk…I HATE HOTPOINTS…!!! 👿

Them too… In fact I dread the name being mentioned TBH. 😯

You can’t help noticing that most owners of Indesit appliances refer to them as “INDISET”? I’m pleased that they do because I can then tell them “Never heard of that brand, it’s not one that I fix, sorry!” :clown:
