i have a Hotpoint SDW60 about 6 year old. I have not used it for few years as we purchased a bigger dishwasher. I had stored it in the garage. It was working fine before. I recently connected it and started the machine. It keeps on tripping the whole fuse box (RCD) after about a minute into programme. I have checked the pump and the heating element. They seem to be ok on conductivity test. I have also cleaned the water container that contains small balls or gel. The small ball/gel side of the compartment was quite brown, so i took it out and rinsed it.I am not sure if it is a mother board which has gone faulty due to storage in the garage. Any advise would be helpful.
Re: Hotpoint SWD60 trips fuse box a minute into first start?
In spite of your tests it could well be the heater or main pump having developed an earth leak. Also moving from a cold garage into warmer room will create a good deal of unwanted condensation onto the electrics. So to find the guilty components a insulation tester (aka Megger) the best way to find what’s going on in there.
