The pre heat light on my Hotpoint sy36x oven has stopped working .

I have checked the bulb by connecting 240 volts across the terminals and the bulb works ok.

I checked the voltage going into the bulb from the oven and find it is about 110 volts.

Obviously this is not enough the activate the light.

Can anyone tell me what I should check next and why would I only be getting this low voltage.

The thermostat works ok and the voltage (110v) is disconnected when the oven reaches the correct temperature.

    Eventually found the problem.

I opened the light unit and found a small (what I assume was a resistor) had come adrift.

I pushed it back into where it should have been and the light now works ok.
