Hotpoint T/Dryer TL61P Knob

I dont know if anybody can help or not but a customer has called me today to see if i can supply them with a knob for their TL61p dryer.
I’ve had a look and it is part no 1701336. But it says it is obsolete. Is this true. It cant be that old and their are so many of theses machines about. I must have had loads in the past years! Is there an alternative?
Any help woud be appreciated.

A lot of late model T/D knobs have been declared obsolete by Indesit. no real alternative. 😥

If it’s the shaft of the knob that’s broken off, you can create a new shaft by winding a stiff piece of wire a few times around a suitable similar shaft – usually 1/4″ with flat. Then you just have to find a way to join that to what’s left of original knob. Can be done with good dollop of epoxy putty if it’s light torque. Otherwise may need mechanical re-inforcement by drilling holes and passing wire through body of knob. Have done this with obsolete hob knobs. It’s never going to be perfect but it keeps the machine out of landfill.

As luck would have it i’ve just been looking through my garage for another part and come across an old one in one of my boxes. Just goes to show, never throw anything away. Should see the state of my garage though!!!
