Went out in january and fitted new capacitor,and was called back a couple of weeks ago with the same fault. checked the motor etc changed the capacitor but got another call this morning same fault, what is eating them up? Regards Paul

Having quite a few of these faults too, i think its the whole pressuse of these tight stretch belts. On the previous range of machines with the spring loaded tensioner I didn’t see as many faults. But yes i’ve had to do a lot of repairs to these. I carry a few bearing kits, belts & capacitors and i’m finding a lot of machines popping the Caps even in fresh machines.

I do see a higher failure rate in the ‘non gen’ capacitors for some reason. Always try to fit genuine if possible now.

TC71 has jockey pulleys. 😉
