    😳

I took the heater cover off (that covers motor and heater unit back of machine) and ran the machine for a few seconds. I replaced the cover and now the heater doesn’t heat up.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Yes you have probably blown the thermostat? Or cooked the element?

We will need the serial number of the appliance to be sure of which parts you need to replace?

Why did you take the heater panel off and run it anyway? That’s pretty dangerous stuff to be messing with!

Element looks OK but can’t test it.

Where do I find serial number? Dryer is 5yrs old.

It was making a loud noise and that was first place I looked like an idiot.

Then time for an engineer perhaps? (see link below) 🙂

On the inside of the door near the hinge usually. 😉

Then you were looking in the wrong place and I would seriously recommend calling out a local independent engineer to do that for you, shouldn’t be costly either (again, see link below) 🙂
