ParticipantHi all,
I have searched the forum and only find one reference to this dryer, which is odd because I posted about it probably a year ago. Also I have searched for the problem in general and still nothing.
Anyway, if this is answered somewhere else PLEASE just tell me the message to go to. THANKS
OK we have the above dryer, lint cleaned every use, water collection unit emptied and clean, the condensing unit is clean.
Our clothes are coming out stinking and rancid. It is horrible.
I started it yesterday empty and ran it about 5 minutes, did a 1 min cool down period and then opened the door. The smell was atrocious. Just like rancid clothing.
So ideas please kind members… 🙂

Hi Sarah,
Pretty much it has to be something in it that shouldn’t be I expect.
The only way that you’re going to find out is by stripping it down for a look to find out what the cause is IMO.

😀 oh joy.. i had one of these not to long ago , in a farmhouse, ‘up lakes’
horrid smell, really nasty
turned out a little field mouse had made its bed for the night under the fan in the back…
customer said they heard a crunching noise , just before the room filled with smoke and the smell appeared
oh the joy of scraping that little mouse off the heater… and the fan.. and the drum.. and the back panel
must have been quick for the poor thing
:rolls: :rolls:

oh yikes that is gross…
mine doesn’t small like a dead animal.. it literally smells like rancid wet clothes.
You know, wash something, hang it in the house during winter or something, it doesn’t dry quick enough and smells rancid when it eventually does.

there’ll be fluff stuck somewhere
i mean, have u tried clenaing the condenser?most people do, i just gotta ask
also clean the chamber where the condenser fits
also, when u pull out the fluff filter, which im sure youve cleaned, look down the hole, clean that out as well, as well as inside the door panelthe only other place (and u NEED TO UNPLUG) is the rear heater panel, its on the back (obviously) and sometimes, moist fluff will stick in there, try removiing it and give it a wash, just remember to make sure its dry when u refit it
