Hotpoint TCD970p Ultima condenser – rubber ring fell out

A black rubber ring fell into the drum of our dryer along with the clothes
I cant find anything in the parts that looks like it.

Can anyone suggest where it came from/ what it does or how to replace it?

It looks like a seal or gasket but the only black one I can find is the drive belt (it isnt that)

Laid out in a ring it has a diameter of about 28cm (too small for door) and isnt very stretchy
It has a 1mm ridge running all around the outside and a larger lip around the inside
its with is about 10-12mm

The dryer still seems to work but I dont want to run it until I find where it goes
I cant see it on the exploded parts on the Hotpoint site

Any help appreciated.

my first though was front seal but at only 28cm its far too small.
Is it a complete circle or could it be part of a bigger circle ?

having problem seeing photo

you say its rubber. now I know the door deal is normally grey and from what you say its only 28cm in diameter when opened up so I cant think what it can be

can you be sure its out of the dryer and not introduced with the wet clothes and its off something else

Without a clearer picture I would tend to agree with Dave, looks like a ‘foreign body’ to me. Nothing remotely like that used on these dryers AFAIK ?
