Hi, its sunday and cant quiz my local white goods guy, and im eager to get some ideas behind why my machine is chewing up jockey wheels? The one that broke today has only been in 2 weeks! before that it was last year about the same time, and at that time it had a new belt, and bearings front and back.

The factors im considering to be the cause are

1: its outside our back door(under cover)and obviously this time of year its very cold which could cause stress, although I have previously replaced jockey wheel 4 times in last 2 years, its only been outside the last 6 months..?

2: one of the bracket holes that hold on the jockey wheel to the motor has lost its very tight bite it wont proper nip up tight leaving a very very slight ability to move the bracket slightly. Im now wondering if this could be the cause..?

I noticed the slight play last year when replacing jockey wheel with the more expensive hotpoint original part hence why its taken a year to fail, last week I replaced with a cheaper part.

Any advice would be appreciated as I really dont want to give up on this dryer as its nice and big and works wonderfully when the jockeys working fine, plus I cant afford a new one this side of Christmas hehe.

    Thanks for reading..

    Nik
