    Hi,

I was defeated by a belt replacement on one of these Hotpoint TCUD93B6G Tumble Dryers today. No way could I get the belt over the jockey wheel on this one. The jockey wheel is fixed solid to the back of the motor on a triangular plate, no tensioner. Can anyone advise how to get the belt over the jockey wheel? is this one of the ones which needs a special tool?

    Thanks,
    Jon

Never really had a problem, they are a bit of a fiddle but you need to find a way that suits you.

One way is to feed the belt round the drum with the drum at one side then push the drum back into the chassis.

    Another method HERE

I have in the past used the old belt slipped under the new one to drag it over the pulley or even levered it over with a flat bladed screw driver.

Taking the fan housing cover off and removing the front fan also helps with access.

Always try to use a 6 rib and make sure it is warmed up if it’s been sitting in a cold van (always notice they stretch easier in the summer)
I use an old snapped belt to pull the new one up and over the plastic pulley. Tis a bit of a fiddle though. 🙁
