ParticipantHi All,
I have a Hotpoint Aquarius TDC30 dryer (Condenser type)
Everything goes through the steps ok but the machine generates no heat at all.
I have completely hoovered out and cleaned the machine.
I was reading the following post, Which could well sort out my problems. As my 2 year old did open the machine half way through a cycle. The heater has not worked since then.

Is there a way of testing the thermostats

What does each one do. I notice that one has a green spot on it.

Both thermostats should be normally closed, ie virtually zero resistance when tested with a meter and split from the circuit. If you don’t have a test meter, the disc on the front of the stats should be dished outwards. If one is dished in, it has tripped.
You’ll need THESE.
Power off, of course.

Cheers for the quick reply.
The one with the green dot on is dished in. 😉
The other still clicks up and down when pressed

Definitely faulty, handle any new green spot one with care, do not press it under any circumstances. The one that clicks is the cycling stat that controls the temp, the green spot one is a ‘one shot’ safety stat that will not reset.
Also make sure the condenser unit is completely clear.

TBH, if it is as bad as that inside the cabinet then you really need to change the drum seals, not an easy task by any means. 😥
The TDC range are not usually that bad for seal failures, the later models are far more prone to that fault.
