I have been called out to this Hotpoint condenser dryer that will not stay on. When the start button is pressed the machine runs but stops when the button is released. The holding relay behind the facia does not actuate. This is an intermittent fault and as usual as soon as you try to put a meter anywhere near it, it works. One answer could be to leave the meter inside the machine, but this would be an expensive solution! When the relay does work it seems to be louder than on other machines. It looks as if the relay is probably faulty but would like to be a little more certain before ordering the part.
