hi all…. i noticed aslightly different noise coming from this machine and after removing the top and both sides it appears the drum is slipping down about 20 mm.
all works fine for now but it obviously needs sorting, the drum is sitting on 3 overhangs from the door seal…one at “30minspast”the other 2 at “20 past and 20 to”.will a new door surround from the spares shop sort this o
ut?..and is it major hassle… ie removing belt, pulley drum, and drumseal?
a heads up would be much appreciated.

You need to check the rear bearing and drum shaft.

Its behind the small cap, dead centre on the back secured by two screws. If there is a lot of black dust or an obviously snapped drum shaft it will need replacing.

There is a bearing kit to repair these, not the easiest job for the DIY’er. 😉

If you get the bearing repair kit for the later models, it will have all of the parts ( and more ) you need including new front bearing pads. There should be no need to change the front surround unless it has been running for a long period with a faulty rear bearing or missing front bearings, there should be four of them.

Its probably cheaper to buy that kit than to get all of the parts individually.
