ParticipantHi all,
Machine isn’t drying clothes properly and after popping off the top cover noticed the felt seal around the front of the drum has came away at one side.
How easy is that to change?
And it is worth doing any other replacements (brushes, rear seal, bearings, …) while I’m at it?
Serial number 09110078 if that helps age it.
Thanks,

Brushes, its an induction motor, 😉
That seal alone is unlikely to cause poor drying results. Keeping the condensor clear and clean is essential.
No need to touch the rear bearing and seal if the drum revolves smoothly.
Seal is not easy to fit, it is self adhesive, you need to clean the residue from the old seal off first.
Top/sides off and follow your nose. Be sure to remove the plug first of course and watch out for some very sharp edges.
Part number is C00095533. An e-mail to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk should get you the information you need as to price and delivery.

Induction. Live and learn. And Less to do!
I’ll run it up and have a (safe) sniff about. Thanks Jim.

Stripped it down and gave it a good clean – heavy layer of fluff around the inners. Working better now.
Behind the water tank there’s a smaller plastic container with a valve on it. Removed that valve and the container is also filled with wet fluff.
The container has an top inlet to the rear air channel that collects the condensate. How do I get that container out to clean it properly? One screw on the bottom of the machine just loosens it I think – didn’t want to force it out.
Thanks.

Major strip down to get at the float chamber, top off, sides off, drum out etc. From memory it is secured by three screws underneath. The rubber bung at the back leads from the float chamber, sometimes a good poke with a large plastic bag tie can shift some of the gunk.
If the water is draining into the water container and the ’empty water’ light is not constantly on then I wouldn’t bother disturbing it TBH.

Thanks.
Will try the rear drain valve tomorrow. It’s draining slowly into the tank and clothes are still a bit damp after a full cycle on low.
Do you happen to know where to get a drain kit for this machine? I asked shop@ a while back but they couldn’t get a part number. Think it’s just a bit of plastic tubing.

Any old piece of tubing can be attached to the spout at the back, it would have to lie flat to the floor though.
If the float chamber is badly gunged up then a replacement would be the best option, not easy to clean out, not over expensive either.
