ParticipantHi, I`m having a problem with my tdc60, once drying cycle has finished, the drying light stays on until I release the door and empty it, therefore the dryer is heating clothes up still untill I empty it, or turn switch off . Before the active light would stay on and turn the drum every few minues until I empted it, but now that is off..

If the drying light comes on as soon as you turn the selector knob and before you press the start button then the dryness module (PCB) has failed. It is very likely that your safety stat will cut out sooner or later.
Module is over £51 ex vat.

ParticipantThat`s exactly what`s happening, but will the drying light that is on as soon as I turn the selector knob on, stop the active light staying on as soon as the cycle has finished, therefore not turning the drum every few minutes to stop excessive clothes crease. Just trying to find out if anything else has failed..I have had this dryer nearly 8 years now, this is the first failure. Need to weigh up the cost of a new unit or too fix this one

It is unlikely that you have another fault, PCB failure is quite common but failure of the small timer is rare.
I’m surprised that the safety stat hasn’t failed already. 🙂

Dryness module is at the front, top right. Mains plug out, top and right hand (from front) side panel off to access.
Part number is C00096288. An e-mail to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk should get you all the info you need.

Seen this happen twice on my tdc60. the Heater relay on the dryness module was stuck closed, which means if the door is clised, the heater is on, irrespective of whether the machine is running or not. the one-shot failsafe thermostat then
blows.I’ve also seen report of the direction relay being faulty so reverse doesn’t work.
If you can solder, it’s possible to replace the relays,I picked up equivalent relays from Farnell for a few pounds, which was cheaper than a new module.
I’ve also found used modules on ebay too.
