Relay faulty on dryness module, very expensive part, currently listed at £103+. If you are handy with a soldering iron you could try THIS

    Or look HERE

What are the chances? My TDC62 has just started to have the drying led on all the time and is heating even on the airing setting. Thanks to the above post i have checked the relay and it is short circuit as predicted. CPC do an exact replacement for £2 so it is in the post … Great work people!

So for me at least, the saga continues, I have replaced the relay and now the drying LED behaves as expected but now no heat … I will start a separate post rather than hi-jack this one!

Now this is a strange one – whilst waiting for the new relay , i needed to use the dryer but was going to keep a careful eye on it because of the problem — turned the selector switch and NO DRYING LIGHT – pressed the power button – light came on and dryer went through cotton cycle with no problem [ even cooled down ] the exactly the same on synthetics cycle .Then to cap it all off the relay arrived in the post [ will save that for when the fault reappears properly [ as it possibly will ] Big Thanks for assistance

    Re: Hotpoint TDC62

It is not at all unknown for relays to stick rather than weld contacts and for them to become unstuck over time and/or after a calibrated tap etc. I would expect the fault to reappear at some point … as it happens when I took my relay out to test it originally it was stuck, I put it back while I awaited the replacement, when I swap the new relay in I compared coil resistance and contact resistance with the old one (‘cos I am like that) and, what the, the old stuck relay had become unstuck. Seems yours has done the same. I put the new relay in regardless …
