hotpoint TDC62 Constantly blowing stats

Hi,
I have replaced the stats on the above tumble dryer 3 times and within 2-5 dry’s the stat blows again. I’ve replaced the element and checked for the usual – blockages etc but with no joy.
I think i read somewhere about the timer / modules can play up a while into the dry, has anyone else heard this?
I’ve also read it could be the capictor mucking around under load? Any thoughts?

When you fitted the new stats did you notice if the dryer light was staying on when the machine did its short reverse, anti clockwise tumble, or was on as soon as you selected a programme before pressing the start button.

If the red light does not go off when reverse tumbling or is on as soon as you select a programme then the PCB is faulty. Of course you would have to replace the stats to check this.

If you are certain that the filter and more important the condensor are clear then it may be a faulty motor capacitor but it could just as easily be a faulty Dryness module, the PCB that controls the machine, sadly that is over £70.00 ex vat. 😥

If the capacitor is faulty you should notice the machine struggling to start to tumble if you watch it for long enough.
