After fixing a faulty relay RT314024 on the controller PCB (because it was shorted closed so that the dryer LED was on permanently and the tumble dryer was heating even when not running a cycle), I now have the opposite problem :rolls: although the dryer LED now behaves as expected since I replaced the relay, I get no heat at all on any cycle. I can guess that at some point when it was heating continuously that it tripped a protection thermostat or burnt out something, but what? Any assistance in things to check and how to perform a test to rule things in/out would be appreciated. Thanks!

A strong possibility the TOC stat which is a one shot device has failed. A thermostat kit is required. you should be able to test the two stats for continuity, the green spot one is the TOC.

Thanks iadom. I have continuity tested the two thermostats and the one with the green dot is open circuit and so dead! The other thermostat provides continuity with a very low resistance, and the heater elements have c. 40 Ohms resistance so they all look good. I will order up a thermostat set and see how she goes …

Replaced the thermostat with the green spot and … 😀 heat! I hope that is the last of the problems for a bit … I have had to replace the bearings (front pads and seal, rear spindle, bearing and seal), a relay on the control PCB and the one time thermostat in the last month … hope I am done for a bit 😉
