ParticipantHi guys new here done a goole search seen the site thought bingo!
Here goes wife asked me to look at the tumble dryer it’s a Hotpoint TDC62P Condenser dryer no hot air blowing naturally though heating element so i ordered the part it turned up this moring like for like i have changed it turned it on all excited to find it’s still not getting hot any ideas?
Please please help the wife now thinks im thick lol

The thermostats are far more likely to fail. If you do not have access to a multimeter or meggar and the skills to use one then I would suggest getting someone in who can. There is little point changing parts by using guesswork.
If you do have the means to test the stats that you may find the one with the green spot is OC.
Parts are available from here, please be sure to remove the plug before going inside.

Correct.
If you do find the one shot ( green spot ) stat has failed and decide to change them, handle the green spot stat with care, make sure you do not press on the base or you will damage the new stat.
Whilst the article linked to above does list all the common causes of stat failure, your machine has an electronic control board that can on rare occasions fail, this results in the heater staying on when it should be off, leading to stat failure.

ParticipantHi jim got my multi meter out the shed checked it and there’s power so i grabed a blade fuse bridged the contact and it started heating up many thanks for your help i have ordered the parts and will get them tommrrow morning thanks

Future readers are advised not to live test under any circumstances – the lack of continuity found when the OP circuit tested was enough to confirm the diagnosis of thermostat failure.

Participanteasy tiger it was controled it was a blade fuse in place and all was done unconected with the wife near by then turned on for 2 secs to see if it worked in no way was i or the appliance at risk at all

Participantanyway the termostats turned up this morning and they work so all is well now i was wondering if anyone know’s of any night courses that one could attend to gain knowledge and certificates?
