hi, noise problem with my tumble tryer.
it appears that the front end of the drum is loose and rubbing against the front support chassis. i found what looks like a “belt” brokken. i think this may be a “guide” for the front end of the drum.
    could you comment!

    regards

    Milo,

Yes it will be the front drum support and drum bearers that have worn away. The part you found looking like a belt is in fact the felt seal. It is likely your machine will need a replaced Drum Front Air Duct assembly that incorporates the relevant parts as a unit.

Could be a costly repair though, to be sure, give me the first 2 digits of your machines serial number?

    Milo,

Probably not good news then 😥

I reckon it needs close inspection (dismantling) to be sure. At the very least you will need 3 of 1701674 Bearing Pads & a 1701676 Felt seal. But usually when they get in the state you discribe then the front metal plate wears too badly in order to replace these bits. 🙁

As a consequence you will need a new Front Drum & Duct Kit (Part No 1702495) to fix it but sadly that part is expensive and in my opinion uneconomical to consider 🙄
