Loud noises?, sparks? smoke? January 4, 2012 at 11:20 am #366480 iadomModerator Re: Hotpoint TDL30 A very common failure that was rectified by a re design of the drum and front duct. The result was a loud metallic noise and eventual belt failure. The drum doesn’t revolve fast enough to generate sparks or smoke. You would only get that if the cabinet was full of fluff due to the faulty drum felt seal. User would have had to ignore loud noises for quite some time, sadly a lot of them do.
