    Has anyone had experience of losing the felt bearing and having metal to metal contact between drum lip and front vent duct? If so what was the outcome?

    Replace front duct, drum bearers and rear drum shaft kit.

    Original duct not available as a spare, whole lot comes as a drum & duct kit, around £100. 😥

    My querie was…. what happened to the machine? Loud noises?, sparks? smoke?

    A very common failure that was rectified by a re design of the drum and front duct.

    The result was a loud metallic noise and eventual belt failure.

    The drum doesn’t revolve fast enough to generate sparks or smoke.

    You would only get that if the cabinet was full of fluff due to the faulty drum felt seal.

    User would have had to ignore loud noises for quite some time, sadly a lot of them do.
