I’ve got a Hotpoint TLD 31S tumble drier which makes a grinding noises sometimes.
I believe from a little research that its just the fount bearing pad.
However i have also read (in one post), that if the front air vent was made of metal then a new front air vent / drum kit is required and not just a pad ?
Given the price if the kit and the age of the machine, this makes mine a right off.

I have also heard that the front bearing pads are hard to get to ?

Have in understood the situation correctly?

    Thanks

Could be the rear bearing that has worn causing the drum to hit the rear panel OR the front drum bearers worn. Either way access isn’t too bad apart from the fact it is built a bit like a biscuit tin and falls apart after removing more than 3 screws.

    Have fun…!:D
