OK, so it’s making a noise like a bearing going; but how the hell do I get the cover off to find out for sure:?: 😳

Full cabinet lift off, excluding front & back, jockey pulleys are the most common cause of noise.

We cannot give you step by step instructions for safety and legal reasons, but I will give you a cryptic clue. Pull the timer knob off. 😉

Please make sure you remove the plug first or click on the link in my sig to see if we have someone who can help.

Thanks for the cryptic clue – worked a treat! I suspect it was the amount of fluff causing the screeching noises, as once cleaned out with a powerful vacuum, it seems ok.

No problem, still reckon its your jockey pulleys, very common fault. If it returns it will be advisable to change both pulleys. You can order them here.

Unless of course your machine has the later stretchy belt fitted, then it may be belt wear.

If the date code (first two numbers of serial number) is 02 or higher then it will have the later belt without any jockey pulleys.

If it does have jockey pulleys the part number is 1740944.

    Jim.
